Starring Joakim Nätterqvist and Sofia Helin
Directed by Peter Filnth
Rated R
There is not a better way to practice your Swedish then watching a fabulous love story that is also action packed. And Arn is a great example. Taking place during the middle ages, this film follows the life of Arn, a trained swordsman by birth who is betrayed and sent off to be a knight templar during the crusades, while his true love is sent to a nunnery. Arn becomes a hero during the crusades and makes his way back to Sweden to find his true love.
The production of this film does not lack anything a top notch Hollywood film may have. I read on Amazon that the original was actually a mini series which they released as two films (there is a second one to this first one). So the films are long, but the story will keep you going.
Arn is definitely a great film and one that I can watch over and over again when I need to practice my Swedish. Buy the DVD on Amazon.com.
